The Wolf's Curse Customer Reviews
:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from PSMullen -- SMART, CREATIVE, BEAUTIFUL this is the perfect story of loss and hope! : This beautifully written story told from dual points of view is perfect on many levels. Readers will love rooting for Gauge as he attempts to honor his grandfather, expose corruption, and make friends in a community that seems against him. They will also love the white wolf, Gauge's apparent nemesis, as she tries to complete her centuries long journey. The tale is both simple and complex, full of emotions, depth, and excellent storytelling. I loved it. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Maria -- Beautiful story, memorable characters, and the perfect narrator! : The Wolf’s Curse is an unforgettable, beautiful tale about family, friendship, and loss. I love that young readers (and adults!) get a glimpse into how we can all process grief differently. I already know I will come back to this book many times, not only for the Wolf’s wisdom, humor, and compassion, but to reconnect with ALL of the memorable characters Jessica Vitalis has created on the page. I cried, I laughed, AND I was at the edge of my seat. I loved this book from the first line until the very last! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2021 )

- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Riverdancer -- A captivating story that embraces the emotions that come from love and loss. : For the past seven hundred winters, the Great White Wolf has ferried departed souls to the Woods Beyond. Despite the magic that sustains her, the Wolf’s body is becoming creaky and tired, and replacements are few and far between. Twelve-year-old Gauge has always been able to see the Wolf, though his ability to do so has struck fear in the hearts of those in his home of Bouge-by-the-Sea. When his grandfather is no longer able to protect Gauge from the judgemental eyes of the other townspeople, Gauge finds himself uncovering truths that make him question everything he thought he knew about life and death.
